(Los Angeles, CA) The hackers who targeted the Los Angeles Unified School District have made a ransom demand, officials confirmed Tuesday. There has not yet been a response to the demand and officials are trying to get all systems back up and running. L.A. schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said the district is following the advice of cybersecurity experts and law enforcement including the FBI. The attack has been linked to a criminal syndicate that calls itself Vice Society, although authorities have declined to confirm it.
