(Washington, DC) — Career prosecutors are recommending against charging Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz in the sex-trafficking investigation surrounding him. The Justice Department has yet to announce a decision about whether they’ll charge the Florida lawmaker. However, people familiar with the probe told the Washington Post the DOJ typically follows such advice. The investigation began in 2020, focusing on an alleged affair with a 17-year-old girl years earlier. Gaetz denies the claims.
