(Dana Point, CA) — The California Coastal Commission is scheduled to vote on allowing a proposed water desalination plant to move forward in South Orange County. The Commission has been critical of several other plans up and down the state as it often votes to protect California’s coastline at all costs. However, commissioners reportedly favor this project. The plant would be constructed near Doheny State Beach Campground at a price tag that is about a tenth of what recently rejected projects would have cost.
We need water. Why would the Coastal Commission stand in the way of stopping the repeated droughts?
