(Cupertino, CA) — Apple is set to fully switch over to USB-C chargers from the lightening cable for its future iPhones. This comes after the European Union voted to enforce a common charging standard for all smartphones starting in 2024. Speaking at a Wall Street Journal Event yesterday, Apple’s worldwide marketing chief said the company will obviously have to comply with the EU’s ruling and said Apple has no choice. He didn’t offer a timeline for when the switch will happen. Bloomberg previously reported the USB-C Charger was “essentially a lock” for next year’s iPhone 15.
