Sports Betting Defeated In California

Another measure which would have allowed Californians of legal age to place bets on sporting events online also failed. Prop 27 had major funding from sites like FanDuel and DraftKings. (Sacramento, CA) — California is approving a ballot measure to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution. Voters in Vermont voted in favor of a similar initiative. Meanwhile, a measure in Kentucky would establish that the state constitution does not protect the right to an abortion. In Montana, a so-called “born alive” law will be on the ballot. The law would require medical care to be provided to infants born alive following a botched abortion.

The former football star is in a tight race against Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock. Placer County Registrar Addresses Unreceived Ballots

(Placer County, CA) — Elections officials in Placer County are addressing the issue of unreceived ballots. The county elections office says they’ve issued about three-thousand replacement ballots.

Stacy Robinson with the Placer County Registrar says that includes the people that didn’t receive a vote-by-mail ballot, but mainly voters who came to the office because they lost it or made a mistake while filling it out. If a ballot was not received, the elections office can scan the mail bar code on the envelope going to the voter, then track the ballot through the postal system. Robinson is reminding voters to make sure their voter registration information is up-to-date.

Some Issues With Voting Across The Country

In Pennsylvania, Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman is suing to have mail-in ballots counted even if they didn’t have a valid date. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court said –per Pennsylvania law–ballots with missing or invalid dates couldn’t be counted and Fetterman wants that reversed.
