(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva is conceding defeat is his reelection bid. Former Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna is about 20-percent ahead in vote counting. In his familiar defiant tone, the one-term sheriff blamed his loss on what he called a “weaponized political machine” run by LA County officials who he calls a “corrupt criminal enterprise.” None of his rivals on the LA County Board of Supervisors have been charged with any crimes.
