RIP: Irene Cara

(Undated) — Show biz and political figures are remembering Irene Cara. The Oscar-winning performer died last week in Miami at the age of 63. Cara is best known for her role as Coco Hernandez in the 1980 movie musical “Fame.” Actress and dancer Debbie Allen — who starred in the TV version of “Fame” — tweeted Cara “was such a gifted and beautiful genius.
