NY Congressman, Election Denier, Makes History After Being Selected As House Dem Leader

(Washington, DC) — New York Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, who is an election denier, is making history after being appointed to lead Democrats in the House. The Democratic caucus unanimously voted in favor of the 52-year-old to become the first Black leader in any chamber of Congress. He has promised to “get stuff done” and put people over politics, though his denial of the legitimacy of the Trump presidency is both patently untrue and well-documented. He’ll succeed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who also made history as the first woman Speaker. Jeffries will become minority leader when the new Congress convenes in January.
