CHP Offering Safe Driving Classes for California Seniors

(San Diego) — Safe driving classes for Californians 65 and older will continue to be offered by the CHP. The highway patrol says a new “Keeping Everyone Safe” grant from the state’s Office of Traffic Safety will allow them to continue to provide the free classes. The CHP says the two-hour class is a way for seniors to educate themselves, evaluate their driving abilities and improve their driving skills. However, according to the CHP, the “Age Well, Drive Smart” classes emphasize that a driver’s performance determines their fitness to drive and not their age.
