(Undated) — California is home to some happy folks. A new SmartAsset ranking found that 17 of the 50 happiest cities in the country are in the Golden State, including six in the top ten. The survey looked at federal and local government stats like income, life expectancy and people with health insurance. Number one on the list is Sunnyvale, with the highest percentage of people making more than a hundred grand a year. Arlington, Virginia; Bellevue, Washington; Fremont, California and Frisco, Texas round out the top five. The least happy city in America? Birmingham, Alabama.
