(Seattle, WA) — A former teacher in Washington state who wore a political hat to school training is coming out on top in his lawsuit. Eric Dodge was a teacher in Vancouver, Washington, and wore a “Make America Great Again” hat on multiple occasions. Some attendees at one meeting said they were “intimidated” and Dodge later said he felt threatened by the school principal and others. That led to a lawsuit and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in his favor last week. They said wearing the hat was a representation of his beliefs and he wasn’t donning the hat around students or in the classroom. Dodge left his job in 2020.
