Las Vegas Mayor Calls On California To Widen I-15
(Las Vegas, NV) — Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman has had it with Interstate 15, but not on her side of the Nevada-California state line. Goodman tweeted a message to Caltrans as well as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, saying travelers headed back to California from Las Vegas had to endure a nearly 18-mile backup on Monday. She’s calling for the widening of the highway on the California side where the I-15 currently has two lanes in either direction. The Nevada side has three lanes both ways. Goodman says driving times on weekends and holidays are intolerable.
