(Los Angeles, CA) – A woman who broke down barriers in Los Angeles politics is fighting for her life. Gloria Molina says she’s battling terminal cancer. The 74-year-old served on the L-A County Board of Supervisors for more than 20 years. That was after she served in the state Assembly and on the L-A City Council. Molina was the first Latina elected to each one of those political bodies. On Facebook, Molina says she’s been receiving cancer treatment for three years. She adds, however, that the cancer is “very aggressive.”
