McCarthy Calls For Calm If Trump Arrested
(Orlando, FL) — House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says he does not want any protests or violence if former President Trump is arrested. McCarthy commented Sunday, one day after Trump posted in all caps on his Truth Social account “Protest, take our nation back!” Trump also said in his post that he “will be arrested on Tuesday.” Prosecutors in New York are investigating if the former president violated campaign finance laws by allegedly paying hush money to an adult film star. McCarthy said Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan will direct an investigation if the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is using federal money for its probe.
