(San Diego County, CA) — California is taking on the opioid crisis in a new way. Governor Gavin Newsom says his master plan to save lives includes the state making its own Narcan. The medication has been widely distributed to schools as a way to reverse a drug overdose. Newsom will also rely on the National Guard more. He says it a “comprehensive approach” that will also crack down on criminal organizations trafficking what he calls “poison” into communities.
