(Irvine, CA) — California Congresswoman Katie Porter is denying claims that she is verbally and physically abusive. Porter’s ex-husband Matt Hoffman and the Democrat who is running for Senate went through a contentious divorce in 2012. Hoffman claimed he was the victim of Porter’s repeated expletive-filled emotional abuse and physical attacks, which he says included Porter dropping a pot of steaming hot potatoes on his head. The claims are resurfacing after former Porter staffers went public with what they described as Porter’s toxic, emotionally abusive management style.
