CA Plans For Creation Of More Desalination Plants
(Sacramento, CA) — In a reversal on his stance, Governor Newsom is now moving forward plans to allocate more of your tax dollars to create desalination plants in the state. His administration, along with the Department of Water Resources, will start allocating five-million dollars each to programs in Los Angeles, Fresno, and Mendocino counties. This is to create more potable water in times of drought. In past years, the state has rejected plans to create more desalination plants, however the water situation in California has grown dire due to the megadrought in recent years. Once the supply from this year’s atmospheric river series runs out, the state will need more water sources.
