Los Angeles ranks below Columbus Ohio, Peoria Illinois, and Trenton, New Jersey as best place to live.

(Sacramento, CA) — Los Angeles is making a poor showing, ranked near the bottom of the US News and World Report, list of the top 150 best places to live. The City of Angels placed at number 139, just ahead of Stockton and Bakersfield. The news outlet looked at 150 of the most populous metro areas and the places had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life. Over a dozen California cities made the list. The best place to live in is in Wisconsin. That’s according to U.S. News and World Report, which says Green Bay is the place to live in the U.S. Green Bay gets an eight out of ten on the value index, which considers several factors including median household income, housing affordability, and crime rates. In second place, is Huntsville, Alabama and in third is Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. Boulder, Colorado and Sarasota, Florida round out the rest of the top five.
