House Passes Measure To Overturn Student Debt Forgiveness

(Washington, DC) — House Republicans have passed a resolution to overturn President Biden’s student debt relief plan. The measure passed by a 218-to-203 vote, with two Democrats joining in support of the move. The plan would give up to 20-thousand dollars in loan forgiveness to borrowers. Earlier Wednesday

(Washington, DC) — The White House is unfairly slamming House Republicans planning to vote on a resolution to do away with the president’s student loan forgiveness program– using a false premise. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who is the White House’s prime disinformation progenitor– said President Biden would veto the measure if it made its way to his desk. She called out Republicans who plan to vote in favor of the resolution who previously had their PPP loans forgiven—despite the fact that PPP loans went to businesses impacted by Biden’s shutdowns–and recipients were told upfront that they would not have to be repaid, NOT personal loans take out so the debtor could go to college. KJP also singled out — unfairly–Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. The White House is just reprising attacks on Greene that they launched in April of last year–before she was re-elected to the House. The House is expected to vote on the resolution this afternoon.
