SAG/AFTRA Actors Set To Strike

By

/

The stage is set for 160-thousand Hollywood actors to go on strike. SAG-AFTRA, which stands for the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, failed to agree to a new contract by the deadline of 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. The unions want more compensation and safeguards against the use of artificial intelligence. A union board vote on a strike will come this morning and a picket would be limited to film and television productions. Actors would join film and television writers on the picket lines. Members of the Writers Guild of America have been on strike against studios and streamers since early May.
