The Los Angeles Police Department’s staffing level is at its lowest since the 1990’s. KNBC-TV reports there were eight-thousand-967 officers employed as of July 30th. The current budget allows for up to 93-hundred officers. And, Mayor Karen Bass has said her goal is to boost staffing to 95-hundred officers. A new academy class started last week at less than half capacity.
