Santa Monica will pay you to not drive. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is rolling out a new pilot program in partnership with Santa Monica that will pay 200 residents with multiple cars, to only use one. The program pays up to about 120 dollars per week for five weeks. Members of those households also receive a Metro TAP card preloaded with 50 dollars, plus up to 10 free rides on Metro Bike Share. Participants need to be at least 21 years old and have at least two cars in their household.
