Six out of ten Los Angeles city employees did not live in Los Angeles last year. That’s according to a new report from the office of city controller Kenneth Mejia.

More than 32-thousand city employees, or 64-percent, lived outside of city limits. Mejia’s office says that meant three-point-six-billion-dollars in payroll left the city. The figures do not include L.A. Department of Water and Power employees.
