A new California law prohibiting people from carrying concealed guns in public places hits another roadblock. An appeals court decision Saturday upheld a U.S. District Judge ruling last month that blocks the law.

The court said that it violates the Second Amendment. The law, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, prohibits people from carrying concealed guns in many types of places including public parks, playgrounds, churches, banks, and zoos.

The ban applies regardless of whether a person has a concealed carry permit.
