A homeless man remains behind bars, accused of setting a pickup truck on fire after he was denied free food at a restaurant in California. The incident happened at a Carl’s, Jr. in the foothill community of Arcadia, about 12 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

Police say that when a Carl’s Jr. employee refused to give the man food, he left and returned with a can of gasoline and a lighter. Witnesses told officers that the man chased the manager and attempted to set him on fire. Instead, the gasoline ignited a nearby pickup truck. The manager and employees held the man down until officers arrived and placed the man under arrest.
