The San Diego Zoo is preparing for the return of ‘panda diplomacy’.
China will be sending two giant pandas to the zoo later this year, after a five-year absence. The pandas are meant as a gesture of friendship between the U.S. and China, referred to as ‘panda diplomacy’ when the practice began in the 1940s.
