The father of a fallen Marine from Norco, California was arrested after being escorted out of Thursday night’s State of the Union Address.
Steven Nikoui shouted, “remember Abbey Gate” and “United States Marines Kareem M. Nikoui” before U.S. Capitol police escorted him out of the chamber.
Abbey Gate was the site of a 2021 terrorist attack at an airport in Afghanistan, which killed 13 U.S. service members, including Nikoui’s son, Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui.
Steven Nikoui was invited to the State of the Union Address by Republican Florida Congressman Brian Mast. Mast says he wanted to remind President Biden about the “damage he has done to national security and American families.”
