The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors now recognizes racism as a public health crisis. That’s after the board unanimously approved a resolution that acknowledges racism as a clear and present threat to public health.

The vote was followed by an emotional speech from Sonoma County Health Services Director Tina Rivera, who said racism has grave health impacts on minority communities and people of color in Sonoma County.
