California Governor Gavin Newsom announced clemency for numerous individuals, issuing 37 pardons and 18 commutations. Rodney Buckley and Terrance Harris were among those granted commutations by Governor Newsom, rendering them eligible for early parole consideration.
Buckley, who was convicted of two counts of attempted murder in 2009, faced a sentence of 59 years and four months to life in prison.
Meanwhile, Harris, who was convicted of murder in 2004 for a fatal shooting in a park, received a sentence of 50 years to life. Both cases originated from rulings by the Sacramento County Superior Court.
