A federal judge is ordering an independent audit of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s homeless assistance program. Judge David O. Carter ruled that Inside Safe and all other homeless programs funded or conducted by the city need to be reviewed by an independent auditor.
Mayor Bass has often called for accountability and transparency and has suggested an independent audit in the past.
Critics have accused the city of spending billions of taxpayer dollars on homelessness with little result.
