The Fresno City Council approved an ordinance, making Fresno the first California city to provide Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal drug, to alcohol-serving businesses.

Under the ordinance, establishments will receive two doses of Narcan and training from the Fresno City Council and the Fresno County Public Health Department.

Fresno becomes the second city nationwide to adopt such a Narcan initiative, marking a significant step in addressing opioid-related fatalities.
