Democrats in Sacramento are releasing a new crime package aimed at curtailing retail crime and theft. Republican Assemblyman Josh Hoover says it falls far short what he thinks is needed.
Hoover backs a ballot measure sponsored by conservatives which would roll back parts of the controversial law. Supporters are now gathering signatures to attempt to qualify for the November ballot.
Hoover say the package of bills being pushed by Speaker Robert Rivas and others are good bills and he will likely support them but he still thinks that the reason those measures are required is tied to what he calls the “failures of Prop 47.”
