A United States Postal Service mail carrier was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend. It happened Saturday just before 2:30 in the afternoon. According to the Union City Police Department, they were alerted about the robbery in progress on Granada Way.

The mail carrier sustained minor injuries. Police are still searching for the suspect and possibly multiple suspects. The USPS is offering a reward of up to 150-thousand-dollars for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Just last year, the DOJ for the Northern District of California warned there has been an increase in crimes related to mail theft and interference with the mail.
