A man is behind bars on suspicion of breaking into the home of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. LAPD Lieutenant James Mylonakis says detectives are taking their time with the investigation.
The break-in happened at about 6:40 Sunday morning, at Getty House in Hancock Park, which is the official home of L.A. mayors. Police say the 29-year-old man smashed glass door and got inside the home, cutting himself in the process. Bass and her family were home at the time, but no one was injured.
In September 2022 Bass’ Baldwin Vista home was broken into when she was a congresswoman and mayoral candidate. According to the complaint, two .38-caliber revolvers were taken from the home.
