Two San Jose Police officers have been shot after a gunbattle with a suspect. Officials say one officer was in critical condition after suffering life-threatening injuries. The other had moderate injuries and was later released from the hospital.
It happened in the city’s Santa Teresa neighborhood around 10:30 p.m. local time while police were investigating a disturbance. They made contact with an armed man who allegedly shot at them and returned fire.
The suspect, who was also injured, was taken into custody and sent to a hospital. SJPD is investigating the shooting.
