An effort to alert drivers they’re going too fast is on the move.  That bill passed the state Senate yesterday.  It would make California the first to require new cars come with a feature to warn people when they’re going ten miles over the speed limit.  The goal is to make roads safer by reducing the spike in traffic deaths.  The technology would not apply to older vehicles or those bought in other states.  If this becomes law, it would take effect in 2032.
