The Mountain Fire in Ventura County has burned 20-thousand-630 acres of land and is 31 percent contained. Andrew Dowd of the Ventura County Fire Department spoke at a community meeting in Camarillo on Sunday night.
The acreage number has been the same since Friday, indicating forward progress has been stopped. The fire, which started last Wednesday morning amid high winds, has destroyed 168 structures and damaged another 67. Six people have been injured, including five civilians and one firefighter. Cal Fire says weather conditions remain favorable for the firefight.
