Man Gets Trapped in Circling Waymo

A tech entrepreneur from Los Angeles says he recently missed his flight home after getting trapped in a Waymo on the way to the airport. Mike Johns says the issue happened in Scottsdale, Arizona in mid-December, when the self-driving car he was riding in wouldn’t stop making circles in a parking lot. On Sunday, a Waymo spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times Johns was delayed by about five minutes, then driven to his destination. The spokesperson blames it on a software glitch that has since been resolved, adding that Johns was not charged for his ride in the Waymo vehicle.
