A Los Angeles-area woman beaten by a homeless man is calling on local leaders to do more. 52yr old Donna DeChristopher suffered a concussion, a broken nose and severe eye damage in the attack in her Los Feliz neighborhood. DeChristopher says the man is believed to be from a nearby homeless encampment that is only about 800 feet from a middle school. She says she’s getting very little help from law enforcement and her council representative Nithya Raman.
DeChristopher says she’s concerned that there might be more who have been attack but are afraid to come forward. She’s also worried the man may attack someone else. Raman sent the station a statement claiming there are 40% fewer homeless in her district, more work still needs to be done. An arrest has been made but no charges filed at the filing of this report.
