Speedy San Francisco drivers better hit the brakes or it’s going to cost them. Beginning today, the speed cameras that have only been giving out warnings for the last two months will now take pictures of drivers, who will get pricey citations in the mail. Now that the grace period for the cameras is over, officials say the tickets will range between 50 dollars and 500 dollars depending on how fast over the speed limit the driver is going when they are caught. Supporters of the cameras say they hope it will get drivers to slow down and ultimately save lives. There are 56 speed cameras in over 30 locations around San Francisco.
