Disney’s ABC has announced it is taking Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air “for the foreseeable future” following comments about the killing of Charlie Kirk. The announcement came after Nexstar Media Group, a major operator of ABC-affiliated stations, said in a statement that it “strongly objects” to recent comments made by Kimmel concerning the killing of Kirk, and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets. In his monologue Monday night, Kimmel raised the possibility that the alleged assassin Tyler Robinson might have been a pro-Trump Republican.
