Sinclair, Nexstar To Preempt Kimmel Show, Talks With Network ‘Ongoing’

Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group are both planning to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live on its ABC affiliates when the show returns tonight. Sinclair said in a statement it will be replaced with news programming across ABC affiliate stations, but talks with ABC are ongoing. Kimmel was suspended indefinitely last week by ABC following comments he made related to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Kimmel has been off the air since Wednesday. Disney said it made the decision to pull Kimmel off the air “to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country.”
