The Department of Justice says it has a solid case against former FBI Director James Comey. Yesterday, it charged Comey with making false statements and obstruction of justice. It involves testimony he gave before the Senate in 2020 on his handling of the investigation into possible Russian collusion with President Trump in the 2016 election. Todd Blanche, the Justice Department’s number two official, says the case was investigated by the FBI and taken seriously by the grand jury in Virginia. Blanche insists there was no pressure from President Trump to prosecute Comey.
