The fire and explosion at a refinery in Southern California is expected to cause the price of jet fuel and gasoline to increase. The Chevron El Segundo Refinery erupted in flames Thursday night, initially in its jet fuel production unit. The fire spread throughout the complex, and crews continue to battle the flames on Friday. Chevron El Segundo is the largest oil refining operation on the West Coast. It produces about three-hundred-thousand barrels of crude oil per day. No one was injured in the fire or by the explosion. The cause is under investigation.
