The Los Angeles Police Department is announcing the arrests of several Mexican Mafia members and associates in San Pedro. The LAPD, along with the FBI, served search warrants at 17 locations earlier today. Eight people were arrested, with six suspects still on the loose. Most of the arrests are related to gun and drug charges. Authorities say the arrests are the result of a multi-year investigation. The investigation is also connected with the Rancho San Pedro gang, considered one of the most active and violent street gangs in the Los Angeles Harbor area.
