A man who was sentenced to five and a-half years for harassing women in 2023, has reportedly been released. Part of that sentence for 37-year-old Bill Gene Hobbs included three years in state prison for felony false imprisonment after carrying a woman down the street while she walked her dog.
A San Francisco Chronicle reporter this week spotted Hobbs approaching women in San Francisco’s Dolores Park and Castro neighborhood, sometimes sitting near them or attempting to engage them in conversation. He was also seen shouting incoherent phrases while sitting on the curb. It’s unclear when he was released or if his actions violate his sentence terms. It’s also unknown if any women reported his behavior to the police.
