California State Senator Scott Wiener is officially running for Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat. The Democrat Senator made the announcement this morning, saying he is running for the San Francisco-area district in 2026. The state senator says he’s making the bid for congress to “stand up to Trump’s extremist agenda.” Wiener has represented San Francisco and northern San Mateo County in the State Senate since 2016. The 85-year-old Pelosi, the former speaker of the house, has not announced whether she is planning to seek re-election.
