LAX is seeing a rise in vehicle thefts and break-ins. Police are confirming 138 car theft-related cases at the airport so far this year. That’s up from 111 last year and 67 in 2023. Some of the commonly targeted vehicles include Dodge TRXs, GMC Yukons, GMC Denalis, Cadillac Escalades and Jeep Rubicons. Authorities say thieves in parking lots and garages are often after new, high-end trucks. In several cases, rear windows have been punched out without alarms sounding. Police are warning people not to leave valuable items in their vehicles in plain sight.
