San Francisco has a new police chief. Mayor Daniel Lurie has tabbed Deputy Chief Derrick Lew for the job. Lew was born and raised in San Francisco and has been with the department for more than two decades. Lurie says Lew will lead the SFPD with a deep sense of responsibility to the people of San Francisco. Lew calls the appointment the honor of a lifetime.
