The power is still out for some in San Francisco. PG&E officials say they hope to have power restored to all customers by 6 a.m. today. Over 130-thousand people were left in the dark Saturday afternoon after a fire at a PG&E substation in the SoMA District. Thousands of people were still without power late Monday night, more than 48 hours after the original incident. PG&E is trying to help out customers who were impacted by the massive power outage. The utility says customers will receive a 200 dollar credit to their next bill, while businesses will get a 25-hundred collar credit. Lawmakers say they want to investigate the incident in the hopes that changes can be made to avoid future long outages.
Plus, it’s going to be a very wet week for the Bay Area and much of Northern California. Back-to-back powerful storms are set to hit the region today and tomorrow, respectively. The rain that has already fallen this week left many Bay Area roads with standing water on them Monday and led to some road closures in certain areas. Preparations have been underway to deal with the storms. In Oakland, public works crews were out in full force Monday clearing storm drains and trying to make sure there will be minimal localized flooding.
